ABOUT
Justin Anthony Long is an award winning writer, songwriter, and performer. Some of his writing & co-writing work includes Big Ass Secret (2025 Stanley Drama Award semi-finalist, 2024 International Human Rights Art Festival, 2024 Forestburgh Playhouse In-the-Works In-the-Woods Finalist), Flophouse (2023 Pasadena Writers Retreat, 2023 Rhinebeck Writers Retreat Finalist), The Jewel Box (2024 Out Here Top 5, 2023 Raindance Film Festival Finalist), Gone Forgotten Year (2022 Tribeca Film Festival Official Selection), The CBS Song (2018 CBS Sketch Comedy Showcase), Benjamin Franklin & the Legend of the Vajra (2018 LiveReadLA Winner), and Welcome to Shoofly (2017 ASCAP/DreamWorks Musical Theatre Workshop). Justin wrote the book & lyrics for the 10-minute musicals The Wild & Wonderful Whites of West Virginia (2016 Sound Bites Festival Best Musical Audience Choice Award), Cookie Soirée (2014 Sound Bites Festival Best Musical Audience Choice Award, 2012 Ken Davenport 10-minute Play Contest Winner), and Mission to the Moon: A Tardigrade Tale. Three of his short musicals are available for licensing from Music Theatre International & Theatre Now. Justin co-wrote, co-directed, and co-starred in the hit musical web-series City of Dreams (USA Today, NY Times, Playbill, IndieWire). Earlier this year, he directed an AEA 29-hr reading of Broken Ground by Jason Ma & Christine Toy Johnson with Musical Theatre West. Justin's songs have been performed at The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, 54 Below, The Bourbon Room Hollywood, Catalina Jazz Club, and Upstairs at The Federal. Justin is a proud member of ASCAP, The Dramatists Guild, and Actors Equity Association. Justin enjoys writing solo and with collaborators. Some collaborators include Jonny Lee Jr., Ge Enrique, Joanna Burns, Joël René Scoville, Ari Frenkel, Noah Prizant, and Nicholas Connell.

When he isn’t writing, he’s usually onstage. Recent roles include Nathan Detroit in Guys & Dolls, Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys, Donny Osmond & Brooke Shields in For the Love of a Glove, and Malcolm in The Full Monty. On screen, Justin has appeared in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street, the indie film Pluto, and the musical web comedy, City of Dreams. He is a member of ASCAP, The Dramatists Guild, and Actors’ Equity Association.
